President Bola Tinubu has sworn in and decorated the newly appointed service chiefs with military ranks matching their respective positions.
The decoration came just hours after the Senate unanimously confirmed their appointments following a two-hour session presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Those decorated were General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Defence Staff; Lieutenant-General Wahidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff; Air Marshal Kennedy Aneke as Chief of Air Staff; and Vice Admiral Idi Abbas and Chief of Naval Staff.
The ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with Vice President Kashim Shettima present, alongside the spouses of the decorated officers.
