Atleast three persons were reported to have died after been swept away by flood at a private Estate in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
Aside the three persons, property, including vehicles, were also swept away by the flood following the downpour experienced across the state especially within the estate.
The three persons, who were said to be residents of Trademore Estate, Lugbe District, Abuja, were reported to have been found after search by emergency officials in the state.
The Director-General of the FCT Emergency Management Agency, Abbas Idris, who confirmed the death toll on Monday, said that the victims, who were swept away yesterday, have been handed to their relatives for burial in accordance with their religious believes.
After the handling over, residents of the area, however, insist that there are more fatalities, saying some people were currently missing after floods took over the entire estate.
It would be recalled that Trademore Estate last year was flooded and one person died and property worth millions of Naira destroyed after the downpour that led to flooding.
