The tragedy was said to have occurred in the early hours of Monday, with residents narrating that the spark that resulted in the vandal’s death woke them up.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 7:30 am when residents in the area were awakened by a sparks coming from an electric pole near a transformer site. Upon inspection, they discovered the charred body of the suspected vandal dangling from the pole.
Speaking to the guild, a resident, Daniel Essien, said this was not the first time such an attempt had been made in the area. “We have been experiencing frequent power outages due to cable theft and transformer vandalism.
