JUST IN: Police arraigns Portable for assaulting Ogun workers

In compliance with the law, the Ogun Police Command has arraigned popular artiste, Habeeb Olalomi, also known as Portable, before a High Court in Abeokuta, for allegedly assaulting some officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).

This came barely 24 hours after he surrendered to the police after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.

He was arraigned before the court on Thursday to fast-track the legal proceedings on the allegations leveled against him.

The charges against the singer was from an incident on February 5, 2025, when Portable allegedly led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise at his bar in the Sango Ota area.

The officials sustained injuries, and while nine of Portable’s associates were arrested, the singer evaded capture until his recent surrender.

Portable, born on March 12, 1994, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, gained prominence with his 2021 hit single “ZaZoo Zehh,” featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.

His career has been marked by multiple controversies, including public disputes with fellow artists and allegations of violent behaviour.

The Ogun State Government has condemned Portable’s actions, describing him as a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal.”

They emphasized their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that such behaviour is addressed appropriately.
