Following successful administration of Oxford-Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccine across Nigeria, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine as alternative brand for emergency usage in Nigeria.
The drug regulatory body said the move had been considered such that would support the Oxford-Astrazeneca jabs in ensuring more Nigerians are vaccinated and protected against the deadly pandemic.
Announcing the approval during a virtual meeting on Friday in Abuja, NAFDAC Director-General, Mojisola Adeyeye, said that the approval was for emergency use and not total clearance.
