JUST IN: Liverpool striker dies in Spain auto crash 10days after wedding

Liverpool and Portugal forward, Diogo Jota, has been confirmed dead at the age of 28 following a tragic auto crash in Spain, barely 10 days after his wedding ceremony.

The fatal accident reportedly occurred on the A-52 motorway, at kilometre 65, near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria in the province of Zamora. According to initial reports, the collision was severe, and Jota died at the scene.

Jota, born in 1996, was a prominent figure for both Liverpool Football Club and the Portuguese national team. Known for his skill, agility, and goal-scoring prowess, he played a vital role in several key victories for club and country.

Spanish sports newspaper MARCA confirmed the incident on Thursday, stating that emergency services were unable to revive the footballer following the crash.
