No fewer than 30 coronavirus patients have died in Lagos State after the first case, an Italian national who came into the state for business.
Also, the number of cases recorded after the Italian index case, who was discharged several weeks ago, has increased to 1,123 with the 39 confirmed cases discovered yesterday in the state.
Confirming the toll, Commissioner for health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, in a statement on his official social media handle on Monday, urged residents to embrace the preventive measures recommended by health experts to curtail the virus spread in Lagos.
Abayomi said: “Two additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of such deaths in Lagos to 30”.
“Let’s remember to MaskUp and take all precautionary measures at home and at work to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission'”, he added.
