The National leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Leke Abejide, has disclosed that the influx of President Muhammad Buhari loyalists, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party ex-presidential candidate, Peter Obi, into the opposition party with the aim of unseating the All Progressives Congress (APC) and prevent it’s candidate, President Bola Tinubu, from being re-elected during the 2027 general election will fail.
Abejide, who is the party’s only elected public officeholder, said that none of the personalities standing to challenge the APC ahead of 2027 do not have the charisma, saying this will give Tinubu another opportunity to serve this country for another four years.
According to him, personalities behind a party assist candidate win election but it is sad that all those that came into our party do not have the charisma to do the need of the public.
The lawmaker representing Kogi State at the House of Representative stressed that it was a joy for him that the party he had funded many years will become the second largest party in the country.
Abejide, who is the chairman of House Committee on Customs, disclosed this on Thursday while responding to questions from journalist on a popular television program.
He said: “ADC is now the bright and most popular party in Nigeria, and I have said this more than 2months ago that ADC will become one of the largest party in the next few months, it will consume PDP.
“It is not about the party now, the party can not win the election, it is about the person, had it been they made mistake and brought somebody else APC would have been gone.
“Candidate determines what the outcome of the election would be, let them go and bring out another candidate to that ADC, and let see whether he can confront the president”.
