At least one person have been reported killed by bandits who abducted 10 others after the attack on Kabomo community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
As gathered, the gunmen stormed the rural community when the residents were about sleeping and shot sporadically to force many to scamper for safety, in order to avoid sustaining gunshot wounds.
Eyewitnesses, who described the attack as unpleasant, narrated on Monday that the gunmen stormed the community yesterday to perpetrate the act.
According to them, the attackers killed one resident during the raid and took away at least 10 others including women.
The Guild reports that this fresh incident marks yet another spike in the ongoing insecurity plaguing the region, which has suffered numerous kidnappings, bandit raids, and killings in recent months.
Residents of Bakori LGA live in constant fear, citing the inadequate security presence that leaves many communities vulnerable to such violent attacks.
However, as of the time of reporting, Katsina State authorities have not released an official statement addressing the recent raid.
