The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the discharge of 60 additional coronavirus patients from the state isolation centers after recovery.
Sanwo-Olu added that the discharge of the 60 patients increased the number of cases managed successfully at the state isolation centers including the index case, an Italian national, to 321
Of the 60 patients approved for discharge on Tuesday by the governor, 40 were males and the rest were females who have been certified okay by medical experts.
The Governor, in a statement made available to our correspondent, disclosed that 31 of the patients were managed at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki Isolation Centre, and 10 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) Isolation Centre.
He noted that the patients were discharged to reunite with the society after two consecutive tests indicated they were negative to COVID-19, an assurance that they have recovered.
He said: “Today, 60 COVID19Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, all Nigerians were discharged from our Yaba, Eti-Osa (LandMark) and Ibeju-Lekki Isolation facilities to reunite with the society.
“The patients, 31 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki Isolation Centre and 10 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) Isolation Centre were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19 in two consecutive readings.
“With this, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 321,” he added.
