Hunger protesters hijack Armour vehicle in Kaduna

The ongoing demonstration against the Federal Government’s economic policies and programs has taken a new twist in Kaduna metropolis after the protesters hijacked security vehicles, Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and forced the security officers to drive them around the state.
The protesters, who defied the 24-hour curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, swarmed around the security vehicle as it moves around the metropolis.
Even the presence of soldiers and others security officers on Monday couldn’t deter the angry protesters who were chanting different songs to express their displeasure over the President Bola Tinubu administration policies and programs.
It was learnt the protesters sat on top of the moving vehicle, chanting slogans and raising their fists in solidarity.
The vehicle, which belongs to the police force, was deployed to quell the violence and misconduct in Kaduna but was instead hijacked by the protesters.
However, the seizure of the armored vehicle by the protesters who hard earlier waved the Russian flag marked a significant escalation in the demonstrations against economic hardship in the state.

The spokesman of the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan,. meanwhile said that the vehicle was not snatched by the violent protesters at Tudun Wada.
According to Hassan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, the driver of the armoured vehicle succeeded in manoeuvring the crowd of protesters who climbed on top of the vehicle since it was carrying live ammunition and couldn’t have used maximum force against the crowd.
