A yet-to-be-identified student of Benue State University (BSU) was kidnapped in broad daylight by unknown gunmen on the school premises, who whisked the victim away to an unknown location.
As learnt, the victim, a 200-level computer science student, was abducted by the armed men in front of the College of Health Sciences gate.
Eyewitnesses said the student’s disappearance occurred in the early hours of Thursday when the gunmen arrived in a vehicle, abruptly stopped in front of the unsuspecting victim, forced the student into the vehicle, and sped off to an unknown destination.
The shocking incident threw the university community into panic, with students and passers-by fleeing in fear as the armed men executed the abduction swiftly, facing no resistance from school security.
Though the victim’s identity has not been made public, the incident has sparked growing concerns about student safety on and around campus.
Other students who witnessed the event described it as a scene from a movie, noting how quickly the kidnappers struck and escaped.
As of the time of this report, the Benue State Police Command has not issued an official statement.
Attempts to reach the command’s spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, were unsuccessful, leaving many unanswered questions about the motive behind the abduction and the progress of the investigation.
