A staff member of the Federal Polytechnic in Bauchi State, Abubakar Muhammad, and a civil engineer were said to have been killed by gunmen that attacked their residence in the state.
The civil engineer, Alhaji Danjuma, was reported to have been murdered in his home around Kafin Tafawa area, a short distance from the community where the polytechnic staff was killed.
Muhammad, who is the Chief Engineer Electrical of the Physical Planning Directorate of the institution, was reported to have been killed by the gunmen while protecting his son at his house in Burshin Fulani axis of the state.
It was learnt that the gunmen, who stormed his polytechnic staff residence at about 2:30 am on Saturday, had an altercation with the son at the entrance which attracted his attention.
Muhammad, eyewitness narrated, rushed out of his residence after the argument between the son and the gunmen intensified at the entrance and was shot dead after stepping out of his house.
On the civil engineer, residents narrated that one person was also kidnapped around Bayara and that the gunmen stole a commercial motorcycle around the community.
Bauchi Command spokesman, Ahmed Wakili, who confirmed the incident, however, assured residents that they would go after the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
