A journalist, Carlos Castro, has been tragically killed by a group of gunmen in eastern Mexico.
The armed men shot Castro, a crime reporter, in a restaurant in Eastern Mexico which led to his instant death, as relayed by the Codigo Norte Veracruz, where the deceased worked until his passing.
The Police held that the perpetrators escaped the scene but efforts are ongoing to get them arrested.
Security agencies at the Veracruz region held that investigations are ongoing over the incident.
Mexico is considered one of the most dangerous countries for media practitioners with more than 150 pressmen murdered since 1994, as informed by the Reporters Without Borders, RSF.
