Gunmen abducts 20 women in Katsina

No fewer than 20 have been reported to have been women were abducted by armed bandits on Monday evening after the bandits blocked the Tafoki road in Katsina State.

The women were fleeing their homes in search of safety when they were attacked by the gunmen who abducted them in the state.

An eyewitness said the women, fearing an imminent attack on their community, had set out to escape but were intercepted by the bandits.

Residents of the area have raised concerns over the increasing frequency of such attacks, as bandits continue to terrorize communities in Katsina communities.

Many villages in Katsina have faced repeated invasions, forcing locals to flee their homes in desperation.

Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the latest abduction, but local sources say efforts are underway to locate and rescue the victims.

Community leaders have called on the government to intensify security operations to curb the rising wave of insecurity in the state.
