Suspected bandits have abducted three siblings from the same family in Niger State, demanding a ransom of N8 million for their release.
The victims, reportedly Qur’an memorisers, were taken during an attack on their community. Details about the exact location of the incident and the circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear at the time of reporting.
Community sources said the kidnappers have made contact with the family, issuing a four-day ultimatum for the ransom payment and threatening unspecified consequences if their demands are not met.
The incident has heightened concerns over the persistent wave of kidnappings for ransom across parts of Niger State and other northern regions of the country.
Residents are calling on security agencies to intensify operations to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and to clamp down on armed groups operating in the area.
