Nigerians and other Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) citizens flying into Ghana are expected to pay $50 for COVID-19 test before entering the country. However, non-ECOWAS citizens are to pay the sum $150 for the test.
The Ghana Airport Authority Company Limited said, in a recent release, that the new guideline comes into effect on February 8. According the release, visitors entering into Ghana are expecting to make online payments before landing at the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana.
Based on the new guideline, effective from February 8, payment must be made online at the point of departure and proof of payment (receipt) shown to airline before boarding.
On arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana, visitors are expected to fill in the issued form with prove of payment, followed by ‘bar coding’ and sample collection. This will be followed by the laboratory procedure and test result collection. It is after this protocol that a visitor could proceed to the immigration and check out point.
