The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved the appointment of Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Anabraba, known for his political experience and legislative background, is expected to play a pivotal role in coordinating government policies and ensuring synergy among ministries, departments, and agencies.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Honour Sirawoo.
According to the statement, Anabrabaās swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place today, Monday, October 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt. Guests are expected to be seated by 3:30 p.m.
Sirawoo noted that Anabraba, a former Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly who represented Akuku-Toru Constituency II, replaces Tammy Danagogo, who served as SSG from the second term of former Governor Nyesom Wike through the first two years of the Fubara administration.
The statement read in part, āHis Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, has approved the appointment of Hon. Benibo Anabraba as Secretary to the Rivers State Government. The new Secretary will be sworn in by His Excellency today at 4:00 p.m. in the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.ā
