By Felix Kuyinu

Over 140 flights have been cancelled following a snowfall in Paris which affected normal weather conditions in the area.

At least 100 scheduled flights were cancelled at the as well as another 40 at the Orly Airport with the hope of the situation changing to put an end to the restrictment.

As part of the transportation letdowns, all public bus services have also been suspended due to icy roads, however, a vast majority of metro and urban rail systems remain in use, as stated by the Transport Minister, Phillipe Tarabot.

Tarabot, on Wednesday, stated that 38 of the country’s 96 mainland departments were on alert for heavy snow and black ice, with three to seven centimetres of snow already accumulated.

The authorities warned the residents to avoid unnecessary travel, urging them to work remotely if possible until the conditions ease off.

The government disclosed that necessary updates will be passed over the occurrence in due course.
