The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been ranked 26th in the latest rankings by FIFA followingĀ their third position finish at the just concluded African Cup Nations, Morocco 2025.
FIFA released the rankings placing the Nigerian male national team third in the African tournament following its performanceĀ during AFCON, lifting the team a remarkable 12 placesĀ in the world.
The West Africans, who were on 38th prior to the tournament, won six of their seven matches and arguablyĀ bowedĀ out undefeated, only losing to the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the semi finals on penalties.
In the ratings released on Monday, Morocco are still at the summit of the rankings in African for their 8th place ranking in the world, followed by Senegal who are 12th globally.
Algeria and Egypt, who were both jetted out at the competition, take fourth and fifth place respectively to make up the apex four.
Spain continues to lead the world, followed by Argentina, France, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Croatia, all making the top 10.
