FIFA nominates Super Falcons goalkeeper for prestigious award

By Felix Kuyinu

The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has nominated Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, for the 2025 Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award.

FIFA shortlisted Nnadozie disclosing that the nomination is sequel to her remarkable performance with former club, Paris FC, during the 2024/25 season, helping the side clinch the Coupe de France Feminine, their first title in 20 years.

The football body also bestowed praises for the shot stopper after helping Nigeria win the last Women’s African Cup of Nations, WAFCON, in Morocco, becoming the competition’s best goalkeeper, alongside finishing fourth in this year’s Women’s Yachine Trophy award.

While revealing the nominees on Thursday, FIFA disclosed that Nnadozie will contend with other top goalkeepers, German Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll from Spain, Chilean Christiane Endler, Hannah Hampton and Anna Moorhouse of England as well as Phallon Tullis-Joyce from the USA.

Voting for the FIFA Best Awards will end on November 28, while the awards will be handed out to the winners at a ceremony early next year.
