EFCC, police strengthen partnership to tackle crime in Kwara

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara State have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration to enhance crime control and strengthen law enforcement efforts across the state.

The renewed partnership followed a courtesy visit by the EFCC Ilorin Zonal Director, Victoria Ugo-Ali, to the Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, at the Kwara State Police Command Headquarters in Ilorin.

During the meeting held on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters, both agencies discussed strategies to improve operational synergy, intelligence sharing and joint enforcement actions as part of efforts to tackle economic and financial crimes more effectively.

Ojo congratulated Ugo-Ali on her appointment, noting that her emergence as the first female EFCC Zonal Director in Kwara marks a significant milestone.

He commended the Commission’s sustained fight against corruption and financial crimes, assuring that the Police Command remains ready to deepen cooperation.

In her remarks, Ugo-Ali described the Nigeria Police Force as a vital partner in the anti-corruption campaign, stressing that effective inter-agency collaboration is crucial to achieving their shared mandate.

She emphasized the importance of sustained partnership to boost efficiency in investigations and prosecutions.

The meeting ended with both agencies reaffirming their resolve to work closely in combating criminal activities and enhancing public safety across Kwara State.
