The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared four Nigerians wanted in connection with a massive cryptocurrency investment fraud linked to the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) platform.
The individuals named are Seyi Oloyede, Emmanuel Uko, Adefowora Oluwanisola, and Adefowora Abiodun Olanipekun.
According to the EFCC, the suspects, through their company ST Technologies International Limited, promoted CBEX by advertising unrealistic investment returns of up to 100%. Investors were encouraged to convert their digital assets into USDT and deposit them into wallets controlled by the suspects. Initially, investors had access to monitor their investments, but eventually, the platform became inaccessible, and withdrawals were blocked.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has authorized the EFCC to arrest and detain six individuals associated with the CBEX scheme, including the four declared wanted.
The court’s decision followed an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC, citing the need for thorough investigation and potential prosecution.
The EFCC has urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of these individuals to contact its offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, or Port Harcourt.
