Diddy to leave prison early after sentence adjustment

American music mogul Sean Combs, popularly known as Diddy, is set to be released earlier than expected from federal prison following an adjustment to his sentence.

According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, his projected release date has been moved from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028 approximately six weeks earlier than initially scheduled.

Combs, 56, is currently serving a 50-month sentence at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. However, he was acquitted of racketeering and sex-trafficking charges during his trial in New York.

The revised release date is reportedly linked to his participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), a federal rehabilitation initiative that enables eligible inmates to earn sentence reductions.

Sources close to the case said the entertainer has been actively involved in the programme as part of efforts toward rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, his legal team is seeking a further reduction of his sentence through an appeal, a move prosecutors are contesting.

The case remains one of the most closely watched legal battles involving a high-profile figure in the entertainment industry in recent years.
