In a gesture aimed at alleviating the economic burden of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Defence Minister, Bello Matawalle, has distributed 3,000 rams to residents of Zamfara State.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide palliative support to vulnerable populations in the region, ensuring that residents can celebrate the festive period with dignity and joy.
Confirming the initiative on Thursday, the APC Chairman in Zamfara, Tukur Danfulani, revealed that each of the party’s 14 local government offices received an allocation of 100 rams, making up a total of 1,400 rams for the residents of the local governments to share.
He added that the remaining 1,600 rams have been earmarked for women, youths, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups across the state.
“These rams are meant for residents at various levels, local governments, wards, and polling units,” Danfulani explained.
Danfulani commended the minister for the generous gesture, stating that, “This donation will go a long way in easing the financial burden of our members during the festivities.”
He also extended his gratitude to other influential APC leaders in Zamfara, notably Senator Abdulaziz Yari and former Governor Muktar Idris, for their continued support to the party faithful.
The APC chairman urged Zamfara residents to keep supporting the Federal Government’s anti-banditry efforts by cooperating with security agencies and sharing credible intelligence on criminal activities and hideouts.
