A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osun State has remanded a 28-year-old man, Ajayi Sanya for reckless driving and alleged murder.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akintunde Jacob informed the court on Wednesday that the accused person committed the offence on the 16th September 2019, at Olaiya junction, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
According to him, the accused person rode an unregistered Bajaj boxer motorcycle in a manner which was dangerous to the public and without regard to traffic law, which eventually led to the death of 59-year-old man, Awojoodu Segun.
He said the offence contravened sections 18(1) and of RTA Cap 146 law of Osun of Nigeria and section 27 of RTA cap. 548 volume 6 law of federation.
Counsel to the accused, Barr.R.A Ugu however pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy, as the Magistrate, Taofeek Badmus ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison.
The case was later adjourned to October 2, 2019.
