Chelsea Football Club have announced the appointment of English tactician, Liam Rosenoir, as permanent manager following the sacking of Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea disclosed that Rosenoir, who leaves French club, FC Strasbourg, for the London club, penned a six-year deal which spans through 2032 to succeed the departed Maresca.
The board stated that the 41-year-old has shown his ability to build teams with a clear way of playing as well as setting the highest standards with players on and off the pitch, hence, leading to his appointment.
It management added that the appointment centered on its willingness to make sure the team continues to compete at the top level in all competitions in the ongoing campaign as well as seasons to come.
While reacting to his appointment on Tuesday, Rosenoir said, ”I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club.
”This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies. To be entrusted with this role means the world to me and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith in undertaking this job. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves,” he added.
”I cannot wait to meet you all. I cannot wait to get started,” the gaffer stressed.
During his time with Strasbourg, the Englishman guided the side to their first European qualification in 19 years in his first season at the club. His journey to Chelsea affirms his third team to be managed in England having had spells with Hull City and Derby County.
Chelsea confirmed that interim coach, Calum McFarlane, will be in the dugout for the side’s Premier League game against Fulham on Wednesday meaning Rosenoir is expected to be in the dugout for the side’s FA Cup game away T Charlton Athletic on January 10.
