Tragedy has occurred in Lagos when a yet-to-be identified commercial motorcycle operator popularly called Okada rider was crushed to death by a vehicle with number plate JJJ 460 CY in Ojota axis of the state.
The Guild investigation revealed that the accident occurred in the evening when a an Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) reportedly ran into a deceased commercial motorcyclist from behind on the Ojota expressway inward Alausa secretariat axis and crushed him to death.
It was learned that efforts to rescue the deceased cyclist proved abortive as eyewitness revealed that the Okada rider unfortunately died instantly while his erstwhile passenger suffered severe injuries after the accident.
Confirming the accident, the Public Affairs Officer of Lagos State Emergency management Agency (LASEMA), Nosa Okunbor, hinted that the Okada with number plate AAB 201 WT and the SUV were recovered and taken to Alausa Police Station for further investigations.
Okunbor added that the body of the late rider has been handed over to the State Environmental Health Management Unit (SEHMU) for further action.
According to him, the affected vehicle and bike with registration number AAB 201 WT were recovered and taken to Alausa Police Station”.
