The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has set up a delegation team to inspect stadiums and facilities to affirm their suitability to host the forthcoming soccer competition for schools in the continent.
CAF held that the eight-man committee, will visit the state in Nigeria to examine the Remo Stars stadium as well as the Ebedei Stadium in Sagamu as well as the training pitches and hospitals and hotels within the two towns to ascertain their credibility to host the final stage of the u-15 male and female competition.
The body held that the visiting team which include Omar Amr, Fatima Elmissaoui, Herve Dassoundo, Mahmoud Amer, Diabate Zakarhiya, Hend Thabet, Josua Knipp and Philippe Tchere, will inspect the marketing and branding, travel and logistics, safety and security and accommodation aspect of the state for the competition.
It added that the team will be at the facilities on Tuesday, February 3 for the two-day scheduled surveying after which a report will be taken back to CAF for evaluation.
The annual competition was launched four years ago with the motive of developing youth football and also promoting education across Africa. It features zonal qualifying rounds leading to its final stage tournament.
The 2024 edition was held in Ghana where the Ghanaian boy’s team won the boys category while Tanzania won the female games.
Winners of this next edition will get £300,00 as informed by CAF.
