The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has confirmed his coronavirus positive status and has embarked on self-isolation to prevent the spread of viral infection among his immediate family and personal aides.
He explained that his new status came after he received confirmation of positive results for the deadly respiratory disease.
The Governor, through a post on his social media page on Tuesday, clarified that he got confirmation of a positive result earlier in the day and that he is asymptomatic.
He expressed optimism that the medical team of the state’s Infectious Disease Hospital will be deployed to manage his new status as he embarked on self-isolation.
“Earlier today, I got confirmation of a positive result for Covid-19. I am asymptomatic and not displaying any symptoms.
“I am currently self-isolating and supervised home management will be administered by the wonderful team at our Infectious Disease Hospital. I ask that we all stay safe and be well,” he wrote.
