Owner of Birmingham City Football Club, Tom Wagner, has stepped down from his daily responsibilities after suffering a stroke.
According to the club, Wagner, who is on a recovery exercise from the ailment, will be off his duties at his designation for a period of time having been put under immediate treatment.
”Thanks to rapid medical intervention, he received immediate treatment and is now receiving excellent care,” a statement by the Championship club reads.
”We are pleased to share that he is making a good recovery. Tom remains closely connected to the club and we all look forward to welcoming him back.”
”Our plans and operations continue as normal under strong leadership.”
Wagner had 45 percent of the club ownership in 2023 but it was increased to 96.4 percent last November, amid plans to build a new 62,000 seat stadium.
Birmingham City won promotion back to the Championship last season and the Chairman disclosed that he is keen to the Premier League as they sit 10th in the league, just one point outside the Play-Off places.
