Bawa back to duty post after slumping in public

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has retuned to his duty post of fighting financial and other related crimes after slumping in public while delivering a speech at a gathering on national identity.

Bawa’s return indicated the readiness of the commission’s boss to continue ongoing fight against corruption across the length and breathe of Nigeria since the anti-graft agency’s was found to reed the country off financial misappropriation and other related crimes.

The EFCC boss returned to his office on Thursday a few minutes after he slumped during the event after medical officials at the Presidential Villa diagnosed him and discovered that he collapsed owing to dehydration.

Speaking after his return to office, Bawa assured Nigerians that he was fit and that his collapse was not an indication of ailment, saying I am fit and ready for the task ahead.

The chairman, who spoke fluently after been certified fit, disclosed that the medical experts at the hospital discovered that his body suffered shortage of fluids needed to ensure effectiveness.

Before the incident, Bawa was speaking on the achievements of the anti-graft agency under his tenure particularly about a suspect that the commission officials arrested in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, with over 116 Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards.

He was about to reveal further details on the suspects when the chairman suddenly became uncomfortable as well as stopped, informing the gathering that he could not continue the presentation.

The chairman was discovered to have become uncomfortable by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, and other senior officials at the gathering and assisted him to his seat.

A few minutes after, the anti-graft agency boss slumped and was immediately rushed out of the venue for medical officials to attend to him.
