The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended four senior officers over allegations of gross misconduct, as part of its ongoing efforts to clean up the state’s workforce.
In a statement issued by the Commission’s Information Officer, Saleh Umar, the CSC said the disciplinary action was necessary to uphold the integrity of the service and ensure that established rules and procedures are fully adhered to.
The decision was taken during the Commission’s plenary session No. CRA.MTG.42.2025, held on Thursday at the CSC Conference Hall in Bauchi, where the officers were formally suspended after a review of the allegations and relevant public service regulations.
The suspended officers, all from the Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ningi, were placed on 50% salary effective from 28 October 2025 to allow for a thorough investigation into alleged offences said to contravene provisions of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations.
In a separate ruling, the Commission dismissed an appeal filed on behalf of a previously sanctioned Education Officer who was removed from service in September over sexual harassment.
It maintained that all disciplinary procedures in the case were properly followed and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the moral integrity of students and young people.
The sitting also approved the promotion of 21 officers across various departments and professional grades, reflecting the Commission’s continued efforts to reward diligence and strengthen workforce capacity.
Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Muhammad, reiterated the CSC’s commitment to due process, transparency and fairness. He expressed concern that some civil servants remain unfamiliar with disciplinary procedures and urged workers to acquaint themselves with service rules to avoid avoidable violations.
