Three persons abducted by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State have regained their freedom after spending about four weeks in captivity, bringing relief to their families and community members.
The victims, identified as Eniojukan Samuel, Eniojukan Bunmi and Ekomitan Mary, were reportedly released after prolonged negotiations involving their families, though details of the terms of their release were not officially disclosed.
The development was confirmed by community and security sources in Kogi State, weeks after the victims were kidnapped along the IhaleāTaki Road in Taki community of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area in late December 2025.
Sources said the trio was seized while travelling in the area and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location by their abductors, where they were held throughout the period of captivity.
Their release has renewed concerns over rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area and other parts of Kogi State, particularly along rural roads and forest corridors.
Residents of the area have called on security agencies to intensify patrols and rescue operations to prevent further abductions and ensure the safety of commuters and local communities.
