A prominent labour activist in Kaduna, Magaji Abdulhameed, has reportedly been killed by armed gunmen along the Birnin Gwari axis in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The young man met his untimely death when armed men, suspected to be bandits, attacked him while he was returning home to his family.
His death was confirmed through a social media post by a security commentator, Bakatsine, who described the activist’s killing as a grim development amid persistent violence along the route.
“BREAKING: Comr. Magaji Auwal Abdulhameed was killed by suspected bandits while returning home along the Birnin Gwari axis in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State,” Bakatsine posted.
He emphasised that the incident is part of a disturbing pattern of attacks on motorists and commuters.
“The attack adds to the growing number of security incidents targeting travellers on the route, despite repeated concerns over safety in the area,” he added.
Meanwhile, as of the time of this report, efforts to obtain official confirmation from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful.
