The crash occurred when a Lexus SUV conveying Joshua reportedly collided with a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Sagamu.

Eyewitnesses said the impact left the vehicle badly damaged, prompting immediate rescue efforts by passersby before emergency officials arrived.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. on Monday in the Makun area of Ogun State, near Danco Filling Station, before the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound lane of the expressway, as Joshua was travelling with members of his team.

Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said two people died during the unfortunate accident, while Joshua and his driver were hospitalised and are receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, who have been identified as two male foreign nationals.

According to a statement issued by the Special adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the deceased were confirmed dead at the scene and their remains deposited at the Livewell Morgue in Sagamu.

“The accident, involving a sport utility vehicle travelling from Lagos to Sagamu, claimed the lives of two male foreign nationals. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle rammed into a stationary truck,” Akinmade disclosed.

Describing the incident as painful and unfortunate, the Ogun State Government commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed, as well as speedy recovery for those injured.
