The Management of Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, has disclosed that another coronavirus patient in the facility’s isolation centre was delivered of twins.
It explained that the development brought the number of births at the isolation centre to five.
The Hospital’s Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, Prof Wasiu Adeyemo, said the mother, name withheld, was earlier placed under isolation at one of the hospital’s designated centres, after testing positive to coronavirus in the state.
Adeyemo, through a statement released to newsmen on Tuesday, said the twins, who were delivered through cesarean section weighed 3.2kg and 3.25kg respectively.
According to him, the baby girl and boy, as well as their mother, are doing well.
“The mother and babies are doing well!
“Once again, celebrate our committed frontline staff for this achievement.
“We also appreciate the support of the Federal government, Lagos State government and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC,” the statement read.
