United States tennis star, Amanda Anisimova, has recorded a morale boosting win over her counterpart, Linda Noskova, to win the China Open, her second title triumph in 2025.
Anisimova clinched the trophy after playing out a 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 result against the Czech Noskova, who she also beat en-route to the final of the All England Club, to record her second WTA 1,000 title.
The American won by a cushion in the 23-minute first set, but allowed the aggressive Noskova grow back into the game in the second to restore the game back on even terms.
However in the third set, Anisimova, who had 17 unforced errors in round two, improved in the trophy chasing encounter, winning the 6th game enroute to claiming the title, her 4th this year.
Following her victory in the Beijing held tourney yesterday, the world number four said, ”It’s been quite few weeks for me.
”I feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself. I can take a lot of positives and have made a lot of progress, just figuring out ways to face certain challenges and push myself in moments when it feels like I can’t go any further.”
”That’s a huge win for me. Winning the title is really incredible. I’m really happy.”
