Passionate about ensuring that Nigeria achieves the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs), the Senator representing Lagos-West senatorial district, Dr. Oluranti Adebule, has appealed that individuals and organisations consider the promotion of the socio-economic wellbeing and upliftment of women as paramount across the country.
Adebule, who promised to often champion all that could aid women development, added that they should support her in removing cultural and political barriers that have often aided gender inequality in the nation.
The female lawmaker stressed that these barriers have limited women participation towards becoming a major force in building stronger and resilient communities in Nigeria.
According to her, if we invest in women and girls, it will become easier to meet the target of sustainable development goals (SDG), overcome other global challenges of conflicts, climate change and economic downturn.

She added that through the assembly, issues halting women development would continuously be unlocked to make them major stakeholders in building vibrant, stronger and resilient communities
The lawmaker said: “It is pertinent for all stakeholders, elites, privileged individuals and organisations to join hands in promoting the socio-economic wellbeing and upliftment of women as well as removing the cultural and political barriers limiting the participation of women in the building of stronger and resilient communities.
“If we invest in women and girls, it will become easier to meet the target of sustainable development goals (SDG), overcome other global challenges of conflicts, climate change and economic downturn.

While soliciting for support, the lawmaker empowered 250 women with funds, distributed hundreds bags of rice and mini-buses to support women in boosting their businesses.
As gathered, this was another round of empowerment the lawmaker would be embarking upon after series of other interventions to lift women and other residents’ welfare.
After distributing the items, the lawmaker promised to embark on “many capital and non-capital projects in the 2025 financial year to address needs of Lagos-West residents.
“These will include road construction to cover about ten legacy Local Government Areas, skills acquisition trainings, economic and business empowerment of constituents, and others.
