The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has cited cases of poor ideology and disunity in the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as a significant factor contributing to the expansion and growth of the party.
The chapter disclosed that it became aware of the current disruption in the ADC and other opposition parties, adding that their recent outburst are symptoms of the bodies struggling on impending irrelevance due to their lack of credibility and credibility, stating that the condition is of positives of the APC as it remains keen on improving Nigeria’s societal capacity building.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, on Wednesday, it also ruled out Aregbeshola’s assertion of defections helping the APC win in elections, adding that the APC has never claimed that defections alone win elections.
Oladejo held that the elections won by the party are performance based, credibility, leadership and a compelling vision.
The Spokesperson mentioned that the APC, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu is aware of the actions put up by the opposition parties to downplay the leader’s win at the Presidential election, as well as his political stature, but added that the political trajectory of modern Nigeria cannot be told without acknowledging the foundational role played by the President in building coalitions, nurturing leaders and institutionalizing progressive governance.
“We understand the nightmare that the current wave of mass defections has unleashed on the opposition,” Oladejo said.
“The panic, denial and rethorical outburst now on display are symptoms of a political camp struggling with it’s own impending irrelevance. We reaffirm, without equivocation, that those horrific dreams will indeed come true in 2027, when the opposition, bereft of ideas, unity and credibility, will disappear into winds of history.”
”Where defections occur in favour of the APC, they are often a response to the glaring failure, incoherence and lack of ideological direction within opposition ranks.
“They are a consequence, not a cause, of the ruling party’s political strengths,” Oladejo stated.
The party figure reassures of its focus on positive governance, economic reforms, national stability and improvement of the standard of living of the populace to ensure a better society for all and sundry.
