Accord party begins e-registration ahead 2027 elections

By Marycelia Agim

The national leadership of the Accord Party has launched a digital registration and revalidation exercise for members in Nigeria and abroad, aiming to position the party for early compliance with emerging electoral requirements ahead of the 2027 general election.

The initiative is intended to create a credible electronic database to support internal party processes, including congresses, primaries, and conventions.

According to the party, the exercise reflects a broader effort to enhance transparency and align organisational structures with evolving electoral standards under the 2026 reform framework.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem announced the rollout and encouraged existing members and prospective entrants to participate in the exercise.

“Accord Party has commenced its nationwide e-registration and revalidation of membership from today. Members of the party, including those in the diaspora and citizens wishing to join Accord, should use this opportunity to register and obtain their new membership cards,” he said.

He added, “This is in accordance with the new electoral governance framework that provides for a digital membership register that will ascertain authentic members of our great party and be used to accredit them for congresses, primaries and conventions as we gallantly prepare for the 2027 general election.”

Mgbudem disclosed that operational guidelines had been circulated nationwide to ensure smooth implementation, stressing urgency and mobilising executives at ward, local government, state and zonal levels to drive participation.

Describing the party’s ambition, he stated, “Accord is the beautiful bride of Nigerian democracy and the fastest growing political party in the country. Nigerians are enjoined to be in one Accord as we strive to build a better, greater and just democratic nation,” noting that the digital register would underpin participation in the 2027 electoral cycle.
