A middle-age man, Ademola Joshua, has been nabbed over an alleged sexual assault on his teenage niece in Ondo.
Joshua, 55, was apprehended by a Vigilante team over the accusation of the assault on the 15-year-old victim after which he was handed over to the police.
Mother to the teenager, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that there was a dialogue between her family and the accused where he admitted to have cunningly lured the girl to his room and forced his way into her on several occasions which has left the victim two months pregnant.
The head of the Vigilante team in Ilaramokin area, Ifedore Local Government, where the suspect was said to have committed the offence, submitted that the teenager mentioned that the alleged lawbreaker had sexual intercourse with her at least four times before moving out of their residence.
The team’s Commandant, Temidayo Idowu, affirmed Joshua’s arrest, adding that the security outfit is committed to alleviating criminal activities in the community to ensure safe habitat for the residents.
The Police held that investigations are ongoing in the matter adding that necessary sanctions await the suspect in court.
