Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie, has completed a transfer to Chicago Stars FC from fellow United States side, Houston Dash.
Alozie signed a three-year deal with Chicago Stars in exchange for $40,000 allocation money to keep her at the club till 2028 as the club aims to strengthen up ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The club General Manager, Richard Feuz, who announced the signing yesterday, stated that Alozie’s experience leadership and two-way play were reasons for the club’s interest in her.
Feuz added that the qualities are key assets needed at the club as it aligns with its future ambitions. He added that the player’s ability to defend robustly, contribute to goals and lead by example reflects a maturity forged through adversity, which can improve the team’s play and results.
Alozie, 28, was at Houston Dash for five seasons where she had seven goals and two assists in 75 appearances, helping the club to a play-off spot in the NWSL.
Internationally, she is a regular figure with the Super Falcons of Nigeria, securing 26 caps since her debut in 2021, featuring at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the 2024 Olympics alongside being part of the side that clinched the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations, WAFCON.
