Super Eagles retains 38th position on FIFA rankings

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have their 38th position in the latest global rankings released by FIFA.

The Nigerian male national team maintained it’s 1,502 ammased point following no competitive match played in December to remain 38th reached in November’s rankings.

Nigeria is currently 5th in Africa behind AFCON hosts, Morocco, who won the FIFA Arab Cup in the month and 11th in world followed by Senegal on 34th, Algeria, 34th, Egypt 35, to make up the top five.

Other African teams in the top 10 include Tunisia on 41st, Côte d’Ivoire, 42nd, Mali, 53rd, DR Congo, 56th, and Cameroon, 57th in the world.

In the ratings announced on Monday, Spain continue to lead the rankings, having reclaimed the top spot from Argentina in September 2025.

France are in third place, while England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia occupy the remaining top 10 positions, all unchanged from the previous ranking

Standout performers of 2025 include Kosovo, who climbed 19 places to 80th after recording seven wins and two draws in 10 matches. Norway are on 29th position, Suriname, 123, also made significant progress, while Jordan 64th, Vietnam, 107th, and Singapore, 148th, recorded the largest upward movements in December, climbing two to three spots each.
