The Lagos State Government has disclosed incidence of a new coronavirus death in the state, bringing total number of casualties from the deadly pandemic to 20.
It revealed that the newly deceased patient was a 25-year-old male and that the patient had been admitted after showing advanced coronavirus symptoms such as severe shortness of breath.
The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who confirmed the casualty incidence through a post on his social media page on Thursday, said that the patient had died from coronavirus related complications.
Abayomi urged Lagosians to support the government in its fight against coronavirus and remain committed to observing medically advised and state instituted precautionary measures in order to curtail spread of Covid-19 in Lagos.
He called for vigilance in noticing and reporting of suspected coronavirus cases in the community, saying that early reporting would result in more lives being saved.
“I again urge Lagos residents to remain committed to observing necessary precautionary measures to stop COVID19 infection. Let’s be vigilant and report any concern about COVID19 infection in our communities”.
